THERE ARE THREE SOURCES OF CALORIES AVAILABLE TO YOUR PUPPY: PROTEIN, FAT AND CARBOHYDRATE. WHILE PROTEIN AND FAT ARE ESSENTIAL, CARBOHYDRATES ARE NOT. IN FACT, PUPPIES REQUIRE NO CARBOHYDRATE IN THEIR DIET.

Fast carbohydrates from rice, corn, potato or tapioca elevate blood sugar and are quickly stored in the body as fat, and are a leading dietary cause of overweight puppies .

By providing more calories from protein and fat (and fewer from carbohydrates), ORIJEN distributes calories to mirror the natural puppy diet, reducing the risk of obesity and diabetes.

CALORIE CONTENT AND DISTRIBUTION

Metabolizable energy for ORIJEN PUPPY LARGE BREED is 3800 kcal/kg or 456 kcal per 250ml cup (120g). Calories are distributed to support peak conditioning with 40% from protein, 22% from fruits and vegetables, and 38% from fat.
